Excursions are a must when you travel to experience the people, culture and history of the country or city you visit. If you’re lucky enough to spend a holiday in Michès in the Dominican Republic then there’s one excursion we can definitely recommend. Take a trip to Montaña Redonda, swing 1,000 feet above sea level and take in some truly spectacular views.
The ride to get there is already a full part of the experience as it is... bumpy to say the least. The destination has grown in popularity lately and roads have been upgraded to make the journey less laborious. However, it will still be super fun, shaky and even get your heart racing a little. It is totally ok for families with kids and seniors but just be prepared for a few vertiginous moments.
Once up there you'll immediately feel on top of the world, with views over the lush mountains and turquoise waters. Swings are available on each sides (providing different views) and they'll make you feel like you're flying. It might seem scary at first - I was terrified and got all shaky during my first swing - but after a few tries you will be wanting more! It is truly a wonderful experience that you will never forget and you can be sure to impress everyone back home with your flying shots.
